This book pulls a reader in deep emotionally.
I was up and down and all over the place in my feelings.
The story of Dan and Megan broke my heart over the loss of a marriage and family.
Every heartbreak Meg went thru was so well written I felt like I was living it.
Dan made me like him, loath him, be sad for him all at the same time… but Hugo and his past and present love was gut wrenching.
We all need a love like Hugo.
Wow! I’m absolutely speechless. This was definitely an intense, gritty, suspenseful and dark journey to travel on with Arthur and Meli. This story had the perfect amount of twists, turns, ups downs and of course passion. I wanted it to end but at the same time I couldn’t get enough. Wow! Great story!
This is the first time reading from this author, and I have to say that I am impressed. The story is told in first person POV of the main male and female characters. The plot twists, the story, the suspense, the drama, it was all really great. The side characters were great too and I can’t wait to read more of this series.
There are definitely some trigger warnings that you are warned against before the book even begins. I applaud Nicola for writing about these touch situations and brings awareness to these things.
I love that Maverick, finding himself in a new position doesn’t let the ghosts of his pasts haunt him into giving up his dreams for his club. I love that he wasn’t afraid to protect Rylee and Ella. I love that Ella had the courage to accept the offer for help. I love that she built friendships with most everyone in the club and didn’t just stick to herself or Mav.
I will definitely be reading more of her work.
Nicola Jane said this was her first MC novel. She said it was full of cheaters, alpha, males, and some weak women who allowed these men to treat them with blatant disregard. She hit the nail right on the head. However, there are plenty of bad behaviors to cover just about ever major character in the book. It's amazing that any of the couples could have a HEA after treating each other so poorly. I guess the heart wants , what it wants. Does that make the characters weak or strong. Maybe just human? This one brought me to tears.
